BMW is recalling two of its cars, the X5 and X3, in the U.S. after one of them had a “system failure.”
The cars have been recalled for “system failures related to an electric powertrain.”
The X5 has a 1.7-liter four-cylinder engine and the X3 has a 2.0-liter two-cylinders.
Both cars were manufactured between 2011 and 2015.BMW says it will be issuing a replacement powertrain on Monday.
The company says the X1 and X2 will be issued as well.BMWs warranty covers the vehicles, so the problem is limited to the first six months.BMw says the recall affects vehicles sold from October 2017 through August 2020, with the X2 sold from April 2020 through June 2020.
