A supercar that could hit 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds?
Not even Elon Musk’s SpaceX could do it.
But for many, this supercar is a dream.
The BMW 330, the world’s most popular sports car, is a car that has become synonymous with luxury and excitement, and now has the potential to revolutionize the industry with a $50,000 car that’s built for less than $5 million.
“This car has changed the way we think about cars,” says Jim Fisk, founder of the Fisk Report.
“For me, it’s like the difference between the McLaren F1 and the Ferrari F20.
It’s going to change how we think and feel about the automobile.”BMW has had a rough time lately, and this is no exception.
The company recently announced that it would buy a car dealership and hire fewer people.
And a few months ago, it announced it would shutter the plant in Michigan that makes its M1 and M1A supercars.
The move has been met with some criticism, including from members of the Michigan Automobile Club, which represents BMW’s auto workers.
The new plan for the Michigan plant is to invest $5.5 million to reopen it, but that’s just for the parts plant and not the whole factory.
It also plans to hire 200 people, but only a few are working there now.
“The new plant is going to bring in jobs, but not enough jobs,” says Fisk.
“The whole factory is going away.”
The new Michigan plant will employ about 1,300 people and build cars that will compete in the luxury car segment, including the BMW 330I and BMW 330e, according to Fisk’s estimate.
The goal is to create an entirely new brand of supercars that are designed to compete with the likes of Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, Lexus and others.
“They’re going to have the same specs as the Mercedes-AMG, Audi RS5, and BMW M3,” says Paul Cianci, who runs the Fisks Report.
Cianci also estimates the company will be able to sell at least half the cars it sells at auction by 2020.
The Michigan plant, located in a rust belt town, was previously the home of a plant that made a lot of Mercedes and BMW cars.
That plant closed in 2007.
It was bought by the company that runs it, and it now makes parts for BMWs and Mercedes-AMS.
But the BMW factory also makes parts and services for other companies.
And that’s where the new plant will start.
Fisk says the plan is to buy parts from the local car dealership to make parts for the new BMW, and to sell parts directly to the new factory.
He says the BMW will sell the parts at a fraction of the price they sell now.
The factory will be run by a third-party company that specializes in assembling cars, and the factory will not have a single employee.
“We’re going from a factory that makes the BMW M5 to a factory with the capacity to make the M1,” says Ciancus.
“We’re basically getting a second factory.”
That’s a big change for a company that has a long history of making cars for other people.
In the early 1960s, the company began making M1 cars, a sportscar that could go from 0 to 60 mph and go nearly 150 mph in a straight line.
But BMW never really went into mass production of M cars, instead focusing on producing a handful of small luxury models that were sold in small quantities.
It never built a massive factory that would create a new supercar.
Today, BMW has a factory in Detroit that makes just a handful or so of the company’s high-performance cars.
The new plant, which will be built in Detroit, will be one of the largest in the world.
It will have the capacity for up to 10,000 cars a year, and Fisk estimates that the new Michigan facility will produce just 1,200 cars a month.
And this is not just an investment for BMW.
It has already been a massive financial success.
BMW’s profit margin in 2016 was 40% in the U.S. and 35% in China.
It earned $4.6 billion in profits in China, which accounts for roughly 75% of the entire global car market.
“It’s like a very big bank in Detroit,” says John Schiller, president of the Auto Alliance, an industry trade group.
“They are so profitable.
It makes me proud to be an American.
I’m so proud to have been a part of it.”
Schiller says that, as a matter of policy, BMW is going out of its way to make sure that the factory is run properly.
“There’s not a single person in the entire company who doesn’t know somebody that made money from BMW,” says Schiller.
